I love writing in my blog because it gives me the chance to process all that has happened especially in these last ten days. I am overwhelmed by the people who have immediately, physically and spiritually, come to my aid. I feel such gratitude towards them. But I want you to know that I am very positive and optimistic that I will fully recover!
My children and their spouses, really my children too, set up a fast and dinner time to come together to pray and break the fast. It is so comforting to have those you love around you during a crisis. It is a huge source of comfort to me that my children have married so well. They have chosen amazingly strong women who have the most kind, supportive and loving families. And their families love my boys. As I tried to take in all that could be my future, and it was looking glum, at least in my perspective, I was so comforted by the thought that my children had such amazing in-laws, that my grandchildren will be in such great shape.
My family has been there every step of the way, at the hospital, checking in on me all the time and bringing dinner over. Last night, Mike and Elle brought us dinner. Elle worked so hard to make such a healthy mulligatawny soup chocked full of vegetables. Their dog, Frannie, always joins us and I adore her.
I also wanted to acknowledge this prayer circle of friends that Sue Buehner organized. Patti Clements, Linda Dunn, Melissa Fabor, Christine Holding, Lori Hogue, Heather Noorda, Kathy Cahoon and Serida Foss. They made the ground we stood on sacred as Linda prayed in my behalf. I have the most amazing friends. I am so incredibly moved when I think how lucky I am to have landed just where I landed among these strong, loving women. The only way to repay their service is to be there at the next prayer circle.
Maggie and Kate, for visit at hospital.
