Kate Daily- 4 years old- Little Miss Spitfire
A few Friday ago, I got to take Kate and Joe to the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point with Kate’s preschool class. I loved every minute of the day except for the time Kate ran ahead to the area where children put on aprons and dig for plastic dinosaurs among dirt and water. I looked around and couldn’t see her. Luckily, Mary’s friends saw my panic and helped me track down Kate who was really right there, I just didn’t see her. I carried Joe Joe everywhere as he pointed excitedly about the huge dinosaur bones. He wanted to touch everything he could and he made the funniest sound, a raspberry, when he saw an insect. The kid is a genius, let’s face it, and he wanted to not only look at everything but study it. After getting more comfortable in his surroundings, he wanted to be put down and he started running around and around, up and down ramps and then all over as I chased him. He is so delightfully darling and so is that Kate. She is a social creature. The minute her friends saw her come into the museum, they wanted her to come and sit by them and then I took a darling picture of Katesy standing in a circle of friends talking and laughing. I love these grandchildren so very much- they say the funniest things. I have to go right home and write down what they say so I don’t forget. They’re brillant and observant and have such a great take on everything that happens to them. I loved being a mom but being a grandma is the ultimate joy of my life!
Kate is Joe’s protector- sometimes she hugs a bit too tight!
