Quote of the Day:  “The past is already gone and the future is not yet there.  Only from the present can we touch life and be deeply alive.”  Thich Nhat Hanh

This afternoon, Nate, Maggie, Kate, Joe and I went up to Neff’s Canyon to see the water lilies.  The parking lot was so full.  I have never seen the parking lot with more than a few cars.  Apparently, we weren’t the only ones with this Sunday idea.  Maggie loves to hike and Nate put sleeping Kate in the running stroller and pushed her along the trail.   Maggie and I examined the lilies.  She loved looking at the waterfalls.  Mount Olympus looked so beautiful.

I’ve always thought it was an interesting part of life when we worry so much about people who are mean to us or who treat us with disdain.  And yet sometimes we care more about what they think of us than the people who really matter in our lives.  It’s like when you can have all these people who are positive to you and then one person says something negative and that’s what we remember.  I truly believe that we all have so many more people in our corner than we realize.  Here is a quote from Paul H. Dunn on that subject.  He says: “Wouldn’t it be nice to have a cheering section when you feel that you are not winning in life?  I bear you  my solemn witness that each one of us has a cheering section, both seen and unseen.  There are those who want us to succeed.  There are those we see:  parents, children, brothers, sisters, relatives, teachers, friends.  But there are also those who are unseen who care and are cheering for us:  heavenly parents, loved ones, who have gone before us, those who are yet to come.  They all want us to succeed.  There are those who continue to care, whether here or on the other side of this earthly veil.  Even when you feel all alone, there are those who are cheering for you.”

What a beautiful quote by Paul H Dunn…tears are flowing. I am heading to CA tomorrow for the 5th anniversary of my son’s death on Thursday. I know he is near but so hard to be separated from him.
    Hugs,
    Pam
