I am overwhelmed w/ the kindnesses, texts, dinners, cards, frozen yogart (Thanks Candi and Bob) and more.  Joe says I got a “midterm” to find out that people love you rather than just a final and it does feel that way.  I am so grateful that my prayers are being sent from Norway, Denmark and Guatemala!

I woke up from the surgery with this overwhelming feeling of sadness that I have cancer.  It just really hit me and then I think of all the kind gestures and gifts laid at my door and I’m buoyed up.  Laurie called from San Diego, Jen brought fruit and a visit, Katie Jensen a heartwarming card from many of Taylor’s friends who fasted for me and got together last night to break their fast.  She also sent an Angel of Miracles which Maggie found just the right place for in the living room. Kim and Landon Rudd brought pizza and flowers over.  Maddie Jones and her sweet notes that make me cry each time.  Lisa Brown left a kind message of help on the phone, and my darling but sneaky anonymous service givers keep leaving things at my door- last night- yummy bread!   Nate, Maggie and Kate came over w/ big card that Maggie had decorated. Megan Mansell called in behalf of the board to let me know they were thinking about me.  Good luck w/ the Hunger Banquet- wish I could be there!

Ann Benton and Mitzi Krantz brought us delicious soup, bread, salad and dessert.  My family doesn’t know what to do with all this amazing food!

Sue O. texted me this great quote:  “Once you choose hope, anything’s possible.”  Christopher Reeve

I have experienced so many miracles in my life and it really feels like they are occurring around me currently at a faster rate.   Whatever is happening is downright spiritual and a testimony to me that we are not here alone during this earthly experience nor are we suppose to be.  I don’t think I knew how I would react to having such a scary diagnosis- cancer.  No one wants to imagine that but I do know that after having this diagnosis, I want people around me.  I need their support, prayers, wisdom- I want to bask in it all.

Just finished reading your blog(s). So happy that everything went well. I enjoyed the snapshots of your life provided by the blogs. Hope all continues on course. I’ll miss you at school and so will all the faculty. Deb ended up back in the hospital on Friday morning. She needed some fluids and that seems to have done the job. I took her into emergency around 4:30 am, headed to Skyline to get things ready for the sub, then headed back to the hospital. She’s doing much better now. I noted the 27 marathons, are you thinking 28? When does the training start? I think of you a lot as do many others – we’re all pulling for you. Take care,
    Matt
