My Mom and sisters Jen and Erin, and nieces Brynn, Ella and Maya came over today and brought lunch.  It was great to visit with them.  Erin gave me two books by Jeffrey Holland that I am looking forward to reading.  Created for Greater Things and However Long and Hard the Road (which I will read w/ more trepidation).  I am so grateful for their support.

I went to bed last night thinking about something that was really bothering me.  On the lower half of my street, 16 houses were built 10 years after the upper half.  That would have been in 1968.   There are at most 16-18 houses represented.  I know of of 7 women who have had breast cancer including me, 2 dogs that have died of cancer, and 3 men who have had cancer.  Those are the only ones I know about.  The women are especially suspicious.   All the ones I know about have survived.  I work a lot in the yard and in the soil.  Our dog, Sadie, was only 3 when she died of cancer.  She was always fed the most nutritious dog food, we never gave her table scraps etc.  and she was outside a lot.  That is an incredibly high rate of cancer victims in a tiny area.  Could they have brought in dangerous topsoil from an area when they were preparing area for housing?  Tomorrow, I am going to find out if some tests can be run to determine if there is high rate of radon or something else going on.  Disturbing!

I also am going to find out genetic testing and try to find out what has caused this disease in my body and prevent others in my family from having to go through this if possible.

Quote of the Day (courtesy of Sue Oldroyd):  “There are only two ways to live your life.  One is though nothing is a miracle.  The other is though everything is a miracle.”  Albert Einstein

I had a friend at church tell me that this will be a very lonely time and I have to say that so far it has been the total opposite.  I am indeed grateful for friends who are making sure that I am getting all the attention I need.
