Taught school today and then rushed to IMC Breast Care Center for call back on mammogram.  They took me into a room w/ ultra sound and  technician showed me the view of my mammogram.  There was a dark white dot in the lymph node area and she said this was the area of concern.  She used the ultra-sound and went over the arm pit area many times and could pick out 3 round, dark areas.  She measured and then went for radiologist.  I was in the room for a few minutes alone and started to feel a significant peace that came over me.  It was very comforting. The radiologist came in and looked at area.  Both seemed concerned and then radiologist searched right breast for any signs of  lumps.  She found one and measured it.  She did ultra-sound on left breast and lymph nodes and could find nothing.  She said the the left lymph nodes looked like she wanted them to look- long thin strands.  There was a big difference between the two arms.

I started to get very emotional, concerned and worried and couldn’t hold back the tears.  I thought about what I would have to tell my family when I saw them next.  They had me get dressed and then meet w/ Care Specialist.  When I meet with her, she asked me if I had taken any medications or vitamins.  Since I had taken Flax Seed and Vitamin E earlier that day, I would have to wait a week to have biopsy.  She scheduled MRI for that Friday.  She also asked if I had a surgeon I wanted to use.  I was in shock!  Do I need a surgeon? I thought.  It was a lot to take in.

When I got alone in my car, both Joe and Nate had called concerned that this appointment had taken so long.  I called Joe and broke down when I tried to talk to him.  Joe didn’t know what to do.  My mind immediately started ruminating about the worst case scenario. What was going to happen to me?  Would I ever see Taylor again?

When I got home, I got on my bike and rode for an hour.  This helped to calm my soul and get some endorphines going in my body.
