Quote of the Day:  “If you hear a voice within you saying, “You are not a painter,” then by all means paint… and that voice will be silenced.”  Vincent Van Gogh

Exercise Log:  Did 5.1 on the Riverwalk.  Another 2.50 on elliptical (-7.36)  Joe and I did 1.78 last night also on the Riverwalk.  I’m going to check out the gym later.  This morning, It was amazingly beautiful. There were hardly any people exercising this morning but you should see it at night.  It is a happening place with restaurants, shops, lights and people.

I loved this morning-  it is warm outside- so many birds, flora and fauna along the walk.   I couldn’t help but think that Maggie would love to see all these birds.  I think I saw a blue heron- could that be?  The same bird that I’ve seen in the Tetons? The pathways along each side of the river are made of stone, stairways that lead up to major road crossings and sometimes arched bridges that cross over to the other side.  I could hear this man greeting everyone working along the way, by name, and when he saw me he said “How are you doing, Dude”.  I thought to myself- did I hear that right?  I think he just saw I had a hat with no hair and it came out.  That’s a first, I think!  Anyway, I saw him later and he told me how to get to the other side of the walk.  He told me he walked about 10 miles a day- he had dealt with heart problems and he was so happy to be alive.  He said “How can I not be happy, I live in such a beautiful place”.  When you look out at San Antonio, you wouldn’t really think “beautiful city” but when you get down out of the gray, and view the Riverwalk, it’s transformed.

Last night, we ate dinner along the river and our waiter mashed up fresh guacamole while he told us what to order on the menu.  He put such fresh, delicious ingredients in (including a fresh squeezed orange) and the chips here are fabulous.  Mike has been working down here for the past week and he was telling us that the man he works closely with was suppose to be stationed in Afghanistan but his 7 month old daughter was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer and is receiving chemo every 3 weeks.  I just couldn’t deal with that news- to think a little baby girl has to go through chemo and the pain it must be causing her parents.  It’s just too awful!

On a search for Crystal Light-  thanks Shelley H. for the reminder.  Lynne and friends- have fun in Idaho!
